I don't know... I feel like if you make a show about teenagers and sex, and if you add Gillian, it's like a must see. If I can share my first impression about the trailer, It seems pretty cliché and déjà vu... One can be both a huge huge fan of the X files and keep a critical eye. But let's watch it just to have a right thought, just in case...

I'm saying that I'm tired about the sexual obsession. And I think the success that the show will have will be just the result of sex + Gillian.

I agree with you. If the show wants to be artistically good, it needs to have much more than just sex and a guest star. It needs good writing at the core of it, and with all the Netflix series that are released, I'm clearly afraid that it will be yet another product released to make a quick buck. I guess we'll know the answer next week.

The trailer and the poster are bad, but the series is not bad.

I watched the first 3 episodes and I enjoyed the series so far. Not a masterpiece, but it has something.

I took a long time to dive into this series, because the subject of the show did not really interest me, and was nothing original. The young cast is clearly the star of the show and we laugh once or twice (I'm only three episodes, for now) but if we want to see Gillian, this work does not do him justice. The profession of sexologist Jean Milburn is only there to justify, most of the time, the fact that Otis is gifted for advice to his comrades. Jean's role is minimalist, he is not really exploited (nor the talent of Gillian), the screenwriters miss a package of scenes that could have been tasty between Jean and his patients during his consultations. We miss outright funny scenes, possibly cynical on the theme of sex with a panel of ridiculous, twisted, desperate patients ... That's why Gillian's CV contains so many errors of course. She agrees to do things like that and makes me miss the days of X-Files, The Fall, or soon The Crown where she'll be wonderful in the role of Margaret Thatcher

On the other hand, Emma Mackey is an actress to watch (and I suspect she is the hidden daughter of Margot Robbie ^^^^^)

When I first heard about it, my first assumption was to think that Gillian would be one of the main protagonists, and that's clearly not the case. There are three main protagonists, plus a few side-characters such as her and the bully (already forgot his name).
So, she is not the center of attention and I think it is fine. Maeve, Otis and Eric are the center of the show and I think the producers did a great job with it. During the first episode, I was a bit "mmmhh", and shortly after, I realized what this show was about and to me it's about those three. Gillian is the cherry on top for me.
