The description from the owners:
THE X-FILES PRESERVATION COLLECTION is home to thousands of pieces of The X-Files history, many of which are iconic to the show. The purpose of this collection is to preserve the history of The X-Files and to pay tribute to those involved in the creation of this historic and ground-breaking show.

By collecting, preserving and sometimes restoring the props, wardrobe, and other pieces we have acquired over the years, we hope to keep the history of The X-Files alive, to learn and teach others how the show was created, and to expose new generations to The X-Files.

Part of our mission statement is that the items in our collection deserve to be properly preserved and displayed for the fans. Some items come to us in need of restoration and we do our best to repair these items to a condition worthy of display and representative of their appearance when used in production. Once an item is added to the collection, it has a permanent home and will be displayed in our museum for all to see and experience.

The history of The X-Files is also represented by the many people who worked so hard to bring the show to life. Many of these people fans are already familiar with: Chris Carter, the creator and executive producer (without whom we would have no series, no films, and no collection to preserve), David and Gillian, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Nicholas Lea, Annabeth Gish, Robert Patrick.. the list goes on and on. But also, the art department, prop masters, makeup artists, special effects, wardrobe/costume department, sound, camera, and lighting teams, all of whom deserve to be recognized for their vaste contributions.

Our work continues as we continue to grow. You can now visit us at our new brick mortar location in Saratoga Springs, NY where you can tour our one of a kind collection as well as vist our retail shop featuring official XFP products as well as tons of XF memorabilia and collectibles for many other genre films and tv series. We have something for everyone and every fandom. All proceeds from our brick and mortal location go back into our mission of preserving the history of The X-Files and highlighting the people that brought it to us.

Thanks for visiting our site and for doing your part to help preserve the legacy of The X-Files, a show that has brought joy to fans around the world for nearly 30 years and counting.

The truth is in Saratoga Springs... we hope to see you here soon!

- Jim and Kelly
