after everything that mulder and scully went through during the 9 years of their investigations, how could it be even possible that they aren't together anymore?!
doesn't it feel strange to you? i don't understand why chris carter decided to have mulder and scully split up.
what do you think about it?

I feel it was a cheap plot twist.

It could have been handled well if Mulder's depression was dealt with in any real way. Like with M and S talking things over. Even something like that could have made a difference. Instead of just saying baloney in interviews and thinking that it'll be more than enough.

CC was inspired by a road sign and he was bored. That's what I got from it overall.

Well he did say that he saw a road sign in an interview. So maybe it was that one. Or maybe it was more one about potholes.

potholes or plotholes?
i think the writing is really immature, we miss the characters for so many years and suddenly we are told they aren't together anymore and that's it... move along...
where are you frank spotnitz!?

Probably both!

Definitely. It just makes no sense at all to not have some actual background leading up to what caused the break up. Any sane show would do that in some way and not have it be contained to interviews.

Word. We miss you, Frank.
