So I suppose we are talking about the episode Nothing Lasts Forever. It clearly had some gruesome images, but I don't even recall if I liked the episode or not. I would have to rewatch it once again.

I revisit this topic from the future, six years later. - That Einstein and Miller both die a painful death. -> Einstein and Miller are still there and they still suck big time. Awful awful characters. The actors had absolutely no chance with such awful scripts. - That John Doggett comes back as a major second character. -> And obviously he didn't. I still don't get why we didn't get the chance to meet Robert Patrick once again. It would have been absolutely great, I am 100% sure of it. - That we get a sequel of one of our beloved loners from the first seven seasons. -> Nope, that didn't happen. But the loners were mostly great, so no complaints there. - That Chris Carter doesn't write any funny sequence. -> He didn't, even if his scripts are laughable now, but that's another matter. - That the scripts let Duchovny and Anderson take the time to play their characters the same way as in the first season (slowly and beautifully). -> Well... they played fine. - That Mark Snow uses again his piano. -> I don't even remember the music from seasons 10 and 11. So probably he didn't, but I bought both scores and will spend more time listening to these. - That the writers take big risks and try to go above and beyond what's asked of them (monster of the week). -> I had a blast with some loners, such as The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat and Familiar. - That Skinner is in most episodes. -> I don't even remember.

I have yet to listen to it. I don't even know where to find it. I will definitely add it on my list and I'm wondering if we should add these onto the site. A live audio drama... I guess this would go into the books section anyway? I do not really see the point of adding a dedicated section just for this. Unless you guys think otherwise.

I absolutely love your list, Duane, as well as your exercise. I think it's virtually impossible for me to list my top 10 episodes, but I want to try anyway! I will need some time, but I will already start by sharing the top 1. I also mark Ascension as my all-time favorite episode from The X-Files. I think it embodies everything I love about the show. It's truly magnificent and part of the best X-Files trilogy by far. So, it would look like something like that: 1. Ascension (season 2) 2. Beyond the Sea 3. Darkness Falls 4. Squeeze 5. Ice 6. Fallen Angel 7. Deep Throat 8. Pilot 9. Irresistible 10. Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose

All right, so the story seems to always change. Now, in the canonized The X-Files: Perihelion book, mysterious character Robin Vane tells Scully that William (aka Jackson) might actually be Mulder's son and not the Smoking Man's. He says that the Cigarette Smoking Man could be the "father" only in the sense that he gave Scully the ability to have kids. But not being the real father. This totally contradicts what Chris Carter was saying in interviews at the time of the big reveal that Scully was impregnated by the Smoking Man.
